WHO WE ARE
Students For Students is the student-created initiative to implement peer-led small groups that encourage authentic conversations around mental wellness.
The idea of Students For Students was first introduced in the summer of 2019 when Charlotte Latin School parent and Eyes Up For Life founder Whitney D’Allaird and a group of rising sophomores asked a simple question; what if every student had the opportunity to experience authentic community within their High School?
These students spent time evaluating their school community; what they loved, where they saw room for growth, and how they believed conversations around mental health could benefit students. Their conclusion was that most High Schools could benefit from a structured plan for conversations around mental health and wellness. Students today face many stresses with school, family, friends, and most recently, the COVID-19 pandemic. And for all of the pressures students face, our team found it frustrating that not every one of their peers had someone in their corner or a trusted group to turn to.
Our team believes that through providing education on mental wellness in High Schools, we can create more emotionally conscious students who can look out for themselves and their friends. We believe peer-led small groups are one of the most effective ways to make this happen.
Through creating a detailed curriculum for small groups, working closely with trained professionals, and recruiting their classmates to join the project, these students have led all aspects of our dream and created a platform for Students For Students to thrive in high school settings.

Hi, I'm Cam and I'm a junior at Latin! I started working with Students For Students in the very beginning. I currently work in marketing and social media, managing our social media in addition to building this website! I am an art student and love to paint, I also enjoy writing, reading, and spending time hiking in the mountains with my dogs.

I work on the Recruitment/Communications team so I help with outreach in the CLS community. I also play volleyball and lead Spirit Club and Girl Up at Latin. Outside of school, I love hanging out with my friends and family or playing with my dogs!
