The Herald, South Africa: Students to donate to metro education fund Herald Reporter
THE Zwide-based Ubuntu Education Fund is to receive more than R4-million in donations from a partnership of local and international students who call themselves "students for students". The group of MBA students are from Harvard and Wharton universities in the United States and the University of Cape Town business school. They arrived in Zwide at the weekend as part of their tour of the non-governmental organisation. They will be staying in New Brighton for the week and hope to raise more money by taking part in the Old Mutual Two Oceans Ultra Marathon on March 26. "Money raised will go towards the Ubuntu Education Fund’s Mpilo-Lwazi health initiative, which reaches more than 40 000 people through the provision of health education classes in 24 township schools, youth counselling, community outreach workshops and sustainable nutritional and medicinal gardens," said Ubuntu co-founder Jacob Lief.
